The Central Lafourche High School Winds was named WGI Scholstic Open World Champions at the WGI Winds World Championships held in Dayton, Ohio this past weekend with a score of 94.35.

Lafourche Parish Federal Programs invite parents to attend this important presentation at one of three locations. The presentation is Internet Safety: Cyberbullying, Social Media, Hidden Apps and more. Detective Dale Savoie of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office will be conducting the presentations. Golden Meadow Middle School's Quiz Bowl team was honored at the School Board meeting on May 9, 2017. The team won the Regional Championship for the second year in a row. Members of the team include Jackson Bourgeois, Sagan Rousse, Bailey Cheramie, Deacon Melancon, Jensen Adams, Trey Danos, Nathaniel Terrebonne, and Devon Sandras.

On Friday's our students can wear a GMMS approved spirit shirt. Tomorrow will be the first spirit shirt Friday. GO LIONS!
Please do not drop off your child until 6:55 am. Our duty teachers need to be on campus for proper supervision.
On August 1st GMMS will host a schedule review and orientation for the 2017-18 school year. Students should wear their uniform shirt to take their ID tag picture. Students can get their schedule and walk the campus to see where their classrooms are located. Supply list have been posted, but can be picked up at school. Also a summer Math practice packet is due August 11th which can be picked up at school. Students and families can also pick up order forms to order spirit shirts on this day. The following schedule will be follwed for orientation:
9:00am-11:30am- 7th and 8th graders
1:00pm- 6th graders with a parent meeting and campus walkthrough
Any new 7th or 8th grader to GMMS will also have a chance for a guided walkthrough of the campus from 9am to 11am.

On July 27th from 11am-1pm in the school auditorium, Coach Desi and Curole will host a mandatory parent and student meeting for football and volleyball tryouts. At this meeting mandatory paperwork will be discussed and completed. All students must be medically, academicly, and insurance cleared to tryout. Please call 475-7314 if you have any questions or email the coaches.
A summer math packet went home in your child's report card. Please see the attached grade level packet. The goal is to help keep math fluency skills retained through the summer. The packet will be due August 11th in Math class.

Mr. Corey Galjour, a representative of the Golden Meadow Carnival Club, gives a donation to the band, cheerleaders, and dance team for marching in the Golden Meadow parades.
LCOMS will host a football scrimmage against GMMS at SL Memorial Stadium.
Come out to meet your child's teachers at 6pm.
Teachers will have a professional development day for meeting. Students will have this day off leading into the Labor Day break.
